Das doppelte Lottchen #152

It's sunday, that means it's Lottie and Lisa time!

Lottie and Lisa means Anni and I usually pick a stamp or stamp set or die that we both have (we nearly have the same taste!) and create a card with this product and another task.
Today Anni made a wish, and it is:
Create A Smile - Snow Dance Kit

and

Ombre embossing paste /Texture paste

I thought I was done with Christmas cards for a while, but due to the break in December there are some challenges left that should have taken place before Christmas... so - who cares - nect Christmas is coming.

I've been Playing with watercolors today and again fell to one of my fav. combos: yellow, orange and pink. The blend in such a fabulous way - So I thought they'd make a great ombre look as well. When I has mixed all the paste I was like "Christine, for  a CHRISTMAS card - seriously?"
I've always loved untraditional cards so - why not?

This is the result :9

I had a hard time getting the colors righton the photo, but I think this is pretty close... The lowest snowflakes are kind of pink, but the light made capturing hard today.

Hope you don't hate me for posting another Christmas card ;)

Now hop over to Anni's blog to find her creation :) She'll knock your socks off ;)

Thanks for viisting!

Das doppelte Lottchen #150

It's sunday, that means it's Lottie and Lisa time!

That means Anni and I usually pick a stamp or stamp set or die that we both have (we nearly have the same taste!) and create a card with this product and another task.
Today Anni made a wish, and it is:
Lawn Fawn -  Stitched Journaling Card die

and

watercolor + salt

Plaing with paints and mediums is so much fun, but I sometimes struggle with accepting the results that I get (honestly - watercolor just does what it does, most of the time...) So I created multiple backgrounds using watercolos and salt to pick the one O loved most. More salt or less? More color or less? More water ot less? There are so many things to think of to create different looks.

In the end I had lot of everything - haha :)

This is the card that I made:

This technique is create to create a winter nightsky, so I went with this - different shades of blue and this texture make it look interesting. I kept the rest of the card simple, with that super adorable walrus from Paper Smooches.

His look is too funny - he looks like someone was really getting on his nerves. Maybe Christmas is not his favorite time of the year - I am not sure, but I like how this card turned out.

Now hop over to Anni's blog to find her creation :) She'll knock your socks off ;)

Thanks for viisting!

Penny Black Simpilcity: happy holidays

Hello everyone, happy wednesday!

I'm back with a new post as a proud

This lucky girl (me) got a package jam-packed with wonderful Penny Black goodies. I love to be inspired by new products and combine a few of them on a project. (Because I just can't wait to use each and everyone of them). On this simple card I combined two new stamp sets, a new paper pad and a new die.

  • Stamp the icebear-image, color (I used Zig Clean Color real brush) and fuzzy cut.
  • cut (or die-cut) a rectangular panel from patterned paper.
  • die-cut a border from that same patterned paper
  • Adhere the panel and the border to your white cardbase and mount the icebear as a focal point on dimensional adhesive.
  • Stamp the sentiment off to the side to add more interest.

I think the subtile pattern and the little border really make the image stand out (bright colors help making it pop even more)

Thanks for stoppin' by - hope this was somehow inspirational :)

Das doppelte Lottchen #137

It's sunday, that means it's Lottie and Lisa time!

That means Anni and I usually pick a stamp or stamp set or die that we both have (we nearly have the same taste!) and create a card with this product and another task.
Today Anni made a wish, and it is:

Papertrey Ink - Friendship Jar Holiday Fillers
&
White on Kraft

Sometimes I come up with an idea and when I want to make a card I'm like "Gosh, what was I thinking?
I made the first card and wasn't really happy about it, because I don't like the vintage style a lot.

So I made a second, more graphic card:

I felt better with than one, but still not happy. So I gave it a third try:

This one turned out more elegant but still modern, that might be my favorite attempt for today. See the enamel stickers? They're from the new Create A Smile release and I love them! They add the perfect finishing touch!

Now it's time to hop over to Anni's blog to see what she created.

Thanks for stoppin' by! :)

Das doppelte Lottchen #134

It's sunday, that means it's Lottie and Lisa time!

That means Anni and I usually pick a stamp or stamp that that we both have (we nearly have the same taste!) and create a card with this set and another task.
Today Anni made a wish, and it is:

Neat & Tangled - Very Merry
&
use twi stencils on top of each other

Let me tell you - I STRUGGLED with this. Two stencils on top of each other - without making it a mess? Anni showed me a card that inspired her and that was when I realized that using one stencil as a background and using the other one to create a focal point would work. Even using two different techniques would make it stand out even more.

My first attempt DID look messy though. And I didn't finish the second one because I didn't like the over-all design.
But I FINALLY came up with a card that I am super duper happy with:

I wanted to create a super subtile background with cold colors, so I used distress inks (evergreen bough, broken china, stormy sky, chipped saphire) and belnded a background. Then took a stencil with waves, sprayed water on top and laid it onto my blended panel. See that subtile texture? Love it? So I was happy with the background - first goal achieved - yay!

For the focal point I cut a stencil with a Memory Box die (Bianca Snowflake). I wanted to used my new best friend called Crackling Paste, but I knew that the translucent paste would get lost on that background. So I mixed the Crackling Paint with some picked Fence distress Paint - which is an Opaque white ink. So it's kind od semi-translucent now and I love that look! Looks cold, frosty and beautiful, right?

So I stamped and embossed the sentiment, fuzzy cut the "merry" and assembled the card. I a so happy I did not give up after the first try.

Do you ever struggle with challenges and make multiple cards until you have one that you really love?

Now it's time to hop over to Anni's blog to see what she created.

This card took quite a while. I die-cut, stamped, colored, stenciled, ewmbossed, distressed... A wild mix of techniques. Something you can't se on the picture: the Cloud-pattern is glittery embossing powder by WOW - it look even cooler in real life.

Create A Smile cards that I haven't shared over here

Hi there,

I have a bunch of Create A Smile cards that i totally forgot to share over here (I got a new planner, so I'm much more organized from now on ... promise!)

Lets get the parade started:

1) liebste Grüße (loveliest greetings)

I used the heart-speech-bubble from Perfect Tune and colored it up 13 times. I am a sucker for rainbow, so I really really love how this turned out!
Challenges:

 2) Flying by to say Happy birthday
I think the Hypnotize Background really gives some movement to that little Penguin from Penguin Party. I blue. embossed it and used some stormy sky Distress ink for some emboss-resist.

3) Sonnenschein - na endlich.
This was my "try-out" card when I created the clouds-stencil for our store - and I jumped up and down when I saw how this turned out. (They are probably my fav stencils in my drawers). The sentiment was made using the "Sonnenschein"-chipboards and a sentiment from "Für Alle Fälle". It says "Sunshine - finally".
Challenges:
Friday Mashup - It's all about the weather

4) My fav image.. little Mr. Beaver (I think he should have a name.. although "Mr. Beaver" sounds nice!) And some printed digital papers - Pretty simple!

5) Hola
Did you see that Perfect Tune has sentiments in different languages? French, Spanish, English, German. So this little cockatoo (from Jungle Fever) might be a spanish guy. I also used the "Say it!" Stencil - looove all the speech bubbles!
Challenges:
Citycrafter Clannge - ONE Word
Allsort Challenge - No design papers
Crazy for challenges - Hello

6) Frohes Fest
Last is a pretty elegant card using stars from Whimsical Wheels and the Hypnotize background with glittery embossing powder. (WOW! Clear Sparkle) I cut the sentiment (saying Merry Christmas) from some real wood paper using my Silhouette...  I should do this more often!

See the glitter?

Challenges:
Inkspirational: Christmas without red or green
Just us girls - photo inspiration:

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you enjoyed this bunch :)

Oh, and don't forget - you have until tomorrow to apply for the Create A Smile Design Team!

Add a Little Dazzle and Neat and Tangled Blog Hop

Hi everyone and welcome to the Nat & Tangled + Add A Little Dazzle Blog Hop!

You should have arrived from the Add A Little Dazzle Blog - if you haven't - you can find the entire Hop order at the bottom of this post.
We're sharing projects that use both companies' products for the next three days - so hop along - there are also prizes to be won! There are $25 voucher's for both companies waiting for you - how awesome is THAT?!

Here's the card I made using he Baby Blue Metal Sheet from Add A little Dazzle and Little Santa Girl from Neat & Tangled. You all know I'm not a super bug fan of those cutesie girl-images with big heads, but I seem to like this one a lot.(And coloring is fun!) I embossed the metal sheet with a cuttlebug snowflakes-folder - a very simple card with a lot of impact!

Now it's time to hop over to Martha Lucia Gomez who's waiting with a great creation. Hope you have lots of fun!
