Das doppelte Lottchen #134

It's sunday, that means it's Lottie and Lisa time!

That means Anni and I usually pick a stamp or stamp that that we both have (we nearly have the same taste!) and create a card with this set and another task.
Today Anni made a wish, and it is:

Neat & Tangled - Very Merry
&
use twi stencils on top of each other

Let me tell you - I STRUGGLED with this. Two stencils on top of each other - without making it a mess? Anni showed me a card that inspired her and that was when I realized that using one stencil as a background and using the other one to create a focal point would work. Even using two different techniques would make it stand out even more.

My first attempt DID look messy though. And I didn't finish the second one because I didn't like the over-all design.
But I FINALLY came up with a card that I am super duper happy with:

I wanted to create a super subtile background with cold colors, so I used distress inks (evergreen bough, broken china, stormy sky, chipped saphire) and belnded a background. Then took a stencil with waves, sprayed water on top and laid it onto my blended panel. See that subtile texture? Love it? So I was happy with the background - first goal achieved - yay!

For the focal point I cut a stencil with a Memory Box die (Bianca Snowflake). I wanted to used my new best friend called Crackling Paste, but I knew that the translucent paste would get lost on that background. So I mixed the Crackling Paint with some picked Fence distress Paint - which is an Opaque white ink. So it's kind od semi-translucent now and I love that look! Looks cold, frosty and beautiful, right?

So I stamped and embossed the sentiment, fuzzy cut the "merry" and assembled the card. I a so happy I did not give up after the first try.

Do you ever struggle with challenges and make multiple cards until you have one that you really love?

Now it's time to hop over to Anni's blog to see what she created.

Thanks for stoppin' by! :)

Das Doppelte Lottchen #126

It's Lottie and Lisa time!

That means Anni and I usually pick a stamp or stamp that that we both have (we nearly have the same taste!) and create a card with this set and another task.
Today Anni made a wish, and it is:

Neat and Tangled - Winter wishes
and
use at least 5 inkpads

Neat and Tangled - Winter wishes
und
benutze mindestens 5 Stempelkissen.

I wasn't too happy with my first attempt and thought I should try something different, so I have to share two cards today:
1) Inkpads for blending the background
2) Inkpads for stamping a background

Which one do you prefer?

Now hop over to see Anni's wonderful creation! Thanks for your visit!

Add a Little Dazzle and Neat and Tangled Blog Hop

Hi everyone and welcome to the Nat & Tangled + Add A Little Dazzle Blog Hop!

You should have arrived from the Add A Little Dazzle Blog - if you haven't - you can find the entire Hop order at the bottom of this post.
We're sharing projects that use both companies' products for the next three days - so hop along - there are also prizes to be won! There are $25 voucher's for both companies waiting for you - how awesome is THAT?!

Here's the card I made using he Baby Blue Metal Sheet from Add A little Dazzle and Little Santa Girl from Neat & Tangled. You all know I'm not a super bug fan of those cutesie girl-images with big heads, but I seem to like this one a lot.(And coloring is fun!) I embossed the metal sheet with a cuttlebug snowflakes-folder - a very simple card with a lot of impact!

Now it's time to hop over to Martha Lucia Gomez who's waiting with a great creation. Hope you have lots of fun!

Neat and Tangled: Add interest by irritation

Hello and happy thursday!

It's my turn to bring some inspiration to you on the Neat & Tangled Blog today.
I decided to talk about interest and irritation.

If you irritate the eye you will add some interest to your card. Well - irritation by something that's unusual for the eye - but don't make your card too busy - that was what I tried and this is the card I came up with:

I used Sparkle and Shine for the background and the embellishments and Everyday Labels for the sentiment
Find all my thoughts about unusual placements and sentiments on the Neat & Tangled Blog - maybe they bring some inspiration into your craft room. :)

Oh, by the way: I often read that people like to store their inkpads on the lid to get the ink to the top of the felt-pad. I never did that - but last week I didn't get good impressions with my black inkpads so I thought I'd give it a try. This makes such a BIG DIFFERENCE!

Those everyday labels are solid with skinny lines. And I didn't have to stamp any of them twice, because I had a perfect impression on every of those labels with the first try. I thought I'd let you know - this is my discovery of the week (and it only took me some years of stamping... hehe) :)

Nice & Ne Dies Blog Hop

Hello everyone and welcome to the Nice & Neat Dies Blog Hop!

You should have arrived from Yana Smakula's Blog. (If not so, hop over to the Neat & Tangled Blog to op along)

Wow, I m so excited about this! Neat and Tangled starts selling coordinating Dies for Stamps TODAY - woohoo! No more fuzzy cutting if you're not in the mood to.
To start off Danielle created Nice & Neat Dies for the "On the Corner" and "A lot so say" Stamp Sets.

Let me show you what I came up with:

For the first card I used the "On the Corner" Die and Cut it out 4 times. I stampe the matching image on the first diecut and colored that with cipoic. The other die cuts were colored with the Copic-Colors hat I had used for the image already. They look so cool stacked together, right? The background was stamped with stars from Sparkle and Shine. I finished the card with some Lime Satin sequins.

For the second card I stamped the sequin from Photo Booth, cut out a speach bubble with the "A Lot to Say" die and white embossed the sentiment part from So Very Blesssed. A tiny wood veneer girl is the finishing touch.

Don't forget to leave a comment for your chance to win!
A winner will be chosen from all the comments along the hop and will receive their choice of A Lot to Say stamp + Die OR On the Corner stamp set + die. The winner will be announced on the N&T blog on Saturday, June 21st

You next sop on the Hop is Miriam Prantner . Make sure to leave her some love!

Thanks for stopping by!

Video: Gradient stamping with Neat & Tangled

Hey there...

Sorry, no Tickling Tuesday today. It's my turn to bring some inspiration to the Neat & Tangled Blog today, so I made a video for that.  Well, I KNOW you're gonna miss the "tickling sound" of my intro, but maybe you still like this video ;)

I made a card using some Dye Inks along  the Neat & Tangled "clouds" stamps set. (lovelovelovelove!) And during the process I tried to find the best way to use those inks for gradient. I needed some practice, but it works - woohoo!

This is my card:

Watch the video to see my process of trying and learning :)

Thanks so much for stopping by, I hope this tickled your mojo, even if it was not a "Tickling Tuesday" ;)

Neat & Tangled Release Preview - So very blessed

Hey there!
It's time for the Neat & Tangled's may release day 3. There will be 4 Sets this month - and they are all so adorable!

Today we'd like to introduce "so very blessed" to you. I love those Big sentiments from Neat & Tangles a lot - it's always such a nice combo of fonts.
I started with a stencil, added color and stamped the sentiment on top. The stamped sequins are from "Foto Booth", another set from this release.

My second card is VERY simple - just a bit of emboss resist in bright colors and some enamel dots - that's it. But although it's simple, I like how the sentiment pops.

As always there is so much inspiration from that awesome DT-team. I am always WOWED and inspired by that team - just too much talent over there!
So hop over to the Neat and Tangled Blog, to see what they made with this set!

Hey there!
It's time for the Neat & Tangled's may release day 2. There will be 4 Sets this month - and they are all so adorable!

Today we'd like to introduce "Sunday school sings" to you. This is a set swith large sentments and a world-image.
Well, I'm not very religious (Although I went to a catholic church for 9 year and my teacher was a sister) AND I don't know any english school songs - so I don't know the songs that are quoted in those sentiments. Still I made TWO card, because I loved the "HEART" and the world so much :)
I have this bright kind of retro card for you. light blue and orange make such a nice combo. The paper with all the tiny cameras  just waited for those stamps - don't you think?
