Das doppelte Lottchen #147

It's sunday, that means it's Lottie and Lisa time!

That means Anni and I usually pick a stamp or stamp set or die that we both have (we nearly have the same taste!) and create a card with this product and another task.
Today Anni made a wish, and it is:

Hero Art - Robot Trio
&
Ink Smooshing

Today's kind of a funny (somewhat embarrassing post). You know what? I seem to get old.

Here's the story:
It started with just a tiny brain dysfunction:
Last saturday I started creating the card for this Lottie and Lisa. When I was halfway done I remembered that Anni was on vacation and there would be no Lottie and Lisa the next day. How could I forget that when we even communicated everyday - even during her vacation?

Then the brain dysfunction showed it's whole extent:
When my card was finished and photographed, the photos edited and ready for saving it to my computer I got a message that "this file already exists." Uhm, what?
Given that I name the photos in a certain way this could aonly mean that I had already prepared a card for this Lottie and Lisa sometime during this summer.

It got worse:
I looked up the prepared card, found it and saw that it was super close to the new attempt.
To give a résumé:

1) I didn't remember Anni was on vacation
2) I didn't remember I already made this card
3) My memory didn't even show any reaction when I used the exact same color scheme and exact same technique for this exact same challenge.
4) My memory didn't even notice that I had colored one of the robots  nearly the exact same way just some weeks ago.

Excuse me, what's wrong with me?

Well, however, I now have two cards to share and both have completely different layouts (at least!). Seems I kind of made my own Lottie and Lisa - haha!

Here's the new card that I made last week (and which is my favorite):

I think the robot trio screams for abirthday card, so I wanted to use a new German word die (saying "birthday" - it's from Create A Smile and will be released some time in November - shht) To add some dimension I decided to cut it from Cardstock and also from fun foam. This adds a little extra, don't you think?

Seite the birthday - anything goes
Virginia's view - all about textures
Simon Says Stamp - Anything goes

And here's the card that I made some time aho - even If didn't remember until I saw it ;)

Ink Smooshing is super popular right now and I remember that I wanted to spice it up a bit - I I created a smooshing panel and cut it into strips. Not sure if this makes such a bug difference (and if the difference is in a good way).

That was it from this old-brained Lady (and I am only 33...)

Thanks for visiting! :)

Das doppelte Lottchen #143

It's sunday, that means it's Lottie and Lisa time!

That means Anni and I usually pick a stamp or stamp set or die that we both have (we nearly have the same taste!) and create a card with this product and another task.
Today Anni made a wish, and it is:

Hero Arts - Happy Everything
&
Use a nearly forgotten technique

Here's the card that I made:

I thought about doing dry embossing because I hadn't done it in quite a while, but I did not love the outcome. So I thought about inking with an old toothbrush - something I loved to do when I was a kid :) Love the fine mist and used a stencil to mist some hearts:

I think those old Hero Arts birds are so fun and cute.

Das doppelte Lottchen #139 and more

It's sunday, that means it's Lottie and Lisa time!

That means Anni and I usually pick a stamp or stamp set or die that we both have (we nearly have the same taste!) and create a card with this product and another task.
Today Ii made a wish, and it is:

Hero Arts - Woodgrain Backround
&
Rainbow

I am a sucker for everything rainbow AND woodgrain, so I thought combining both would be cool. I kept my card super simple:

  • I white heat embossed the woodgrain pattern onto a large piece of cardstock
  • I inked it up with Distress Stains (picked raspberry, barn door, spiced marmelade, squeezed lemonade, twisted citron, broken china, peacock feathers - the purple is a mixture of peacock feathers and picked raspberry, because I had no purple Distress Stain dauber).
  • I cut the feather shapes with my Silhouette
  • I die cut the sentiment (My Favorite Things) from black cardstock.
  • I assembled the card and added glossy accents to the die-cut sentiment
  • A few enamel dot bring the card together.

This is super simple and a pretty clean card, but with all it's brightness, I don't think it needed anything else.

I also have two more card for you today:

This "get well" card was created with a cute image from purple Onion Designs (Stacey Yacula, to be exact) and some Create A Smile paper.
I really waten to create those washitape-paperclips and think they are a cute embellishment.:

Virginia's View - Embellishments

If you follow my blog you'll have notices that I'm all about lions right now (Well, it's August - month of the lions. And I am a lion, too!) To I took out this cutie by Mama Elephant to crate this card:

Thanks for latik a look and leaving some love - I have the best readers of all times!

Das doppelte Lottchen #138

It's sunday, that means it's Lottie and Lisa time!

That means Anni and I usually pick a stamp or stamp set or die that we both have (we nearly have the same taste!) and create a card with this product and another task.
Today Anni made a wish, and it is:

Hero Arts - Essential Messanges
&
Your oldest stamp

Honestly - do YOU remember your oldest stamp? The one you started papercrafting with?
I don't - so I flicked through my older stamps and picked a set that I know was super old - it's the "Bird assortment" set by Inkadinkadoo.
I haven't used Silicone-stamps in a LONG time and completely forgot how they feel (Photopolymer just has a way better quality!). Even If i wasn't too happy about the material I still liked those images that I totally forgot about during the year, so I'd like to say I huge thank you to Anni for making me browse my old stash :)

I stamped the birds in a row with Versamark ink, embossed in white and colored them with my Kuretake Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and some water, fuzzy cut the top portion and assambled the card. Then I White embossed the sentiment and it was done.
I already told Anni, this feels like a 2012-card - even if I don't exactly know what that means - lol. I think Anni and I made a lot of cards in that style back then. Hope you still like that "oldschool card" - ha!

Now it's time to hop over to Anni's blog to see what she created.

Thanks for stoppin' by! :)

Das doppelte Lottchen #136

It's sunday, that means it's Lottie and Lisa time!

That means Anni and I usually pick a stamp or stamp set or die that we both have (we nearly have the same taste!) and create a card with this product and another task.
Today Anni made a wish, and it is:

Hero Arts - Small Solid Flower
&
Metal

When I first read about this challenge I was like - oh... metal?! I thought about charms - but I don't like them on cards. Metal foil - uhm... no.
So I went for some stamples! Easy, subtile, but a nice detail.

  • I embossed the small solid flowers and more Hero Arts flowers with silver Pearl embossing powder onto vellum and used my blending tools to add color on top.
  • The front panel is slightly smaller than my long cardbase and got rounded corners. I also drew some false stitching to add some extra pulling the card together.
  • I cut the flowers out with some extra space and stapled them onto my card panel.
  • See the sentiment? It says "Happy Birthday" or "Congratulations" and is from a new Create A Smile Set that will be released on friday. Woot woot! :) I stamped it with Versafine Black Onyx Ink.
  • Popping that up onto the card adds some simple dimension.

I love how this card turned out. The silver peal embossing powder also has a metallic shine, so it goes super well with the staples and the colors just POP! That extra long card allows the colors to shine and have some space.

Tickling Tuesday #30 - emboss resist with solid images

Hi there, welcome to Tickling Tuesday #30!
I'm sharing a very simple, yet beautiful card with you today and hope you like it as much as I do :)
When I saw the Hero Arts Luscious Bold Flower Set in knew it was made for emboss resist. And that German sentiment "time to smile" from Create A Smile, that will be released on friday (eeeek!) works well with it, right?

Challenges:
Addicted to Stamps and More - Anything goes
The pink elephant - inspiration photo
CASology - Three (three flowers of each color)

I'd also like to share another card that was featured with our September Release Intro video on the Create A Smile Blog on sunday. So if you have not checked the video out yet: Now's the time!

ABNH Challenge #49: Die A Little (or a lot)

It's that time again - there's a new challenge over at A Blog named Hero:

Die a little? No, of course we don't want you to DIE, but to use dies. easy-peasy, right? We all love dies anyway! As always you can win a fabulous prize from our Sponsor Simon Says Stamp. They're giving away a 25$ gift voucher to their store. :

So if you want to win this, hop over to A Blog named Hero and play along. The Design Team will not only be playing with Hero Arts supplies but also with Reverse Confetti this month. A match made in heaven ;)

For my card I used Chevron Dies from my favorite thing, the Large Hero Arts flower and a sentiment from Reverse Confetti. And know what? I found out that distress Markers are great to color an embossed image on vellum. The copics always color the embossing or you have to color on the back - which mutes the color. So this is a great use for Distress Markers (finally!). Not a perfect blended look, but no streaks at least. I think this is pretty! :)

Now take out your dies and some Hero Arts products and play along. We can't wait to see your creations!
