Good morning, guten Morgen, Bonjour!
I am here with a special post today - the Happy Insta Girls Schrott (white elephant) Blog Hop.
Remember the Hop we had in December when every participant got a card and a package of crafty white elephants? Today's the day to show what we made out of that trash.
Short flashback to the story behind this hop:
Cardmaking and Scrapbooking get more popular over here in Germany and there's a huge pool of amazingly talented German crafters.
I met one of my (crafty) friends on the Internet - Birka. She's grown a sweet friend of mine and I had the chance to meet her in person last summer. She's a lovely, heartwarming person who loves to care for others and she put together a sweet group of girls who kind of became a community over the last months. Since most of them met via Instagram Birka calls them the "Happy Insta Girls".
The girls started celebrating their friendship with super inspiring blog hops following different themes and this time I have the honor and pleasure to be part of the hop.
(I know most of the girls from Facebook, Instagram and because they're sweet customers so Birka invited me some time ago to join the group. I've just been too busy to take part in former hops, so this is my first appearance in this group - yay!)
Happy to be with them - they rock!
This time the blog hop is all about the white elephant gift exchange.
The Lovely Reni aka. Kartenwind sent me some serious kind of crafty trash. Not only had I never, in my entire life, used paper flowers or this crazy type of ribbon before, but it also came in a vintagy color combo - wohoo. You know what kind of vintage-lover I am!
The good part is: It was only a small amount of "goodies", so I felt there was no need to use everything on one project. I made two cards, showing you the one that I like better (also did I have problems getting good light to capture the other one, the color was a bit off, so I'll show the other card at a later date ;) )
For this card I decided to use the paper (which was easy) and that weird ribbon (which was not so easy, but I admit that I left the super hard to use large embellishments behind, because I just couldn't share a card I found too ugly.
I am so happy that I was able to use this color combo without getting a vintage card - phew!
Hope you like it a little bit - of course it would have been cooler without the ribbon ;)
This is the hop order, in case you want to start from the beginning or got lost along the way:
