Good morning, guten Morgen, Bonjour!
I am here with a special post today - the Happy Insta Girls Nikolaus (St Nicholas) Blog Hop.
Cardmaking and Scrapbooking get more popular over here in Germany and there's a huge pool of amazingly talented German crafters.
I met one of my (crafty) friends on the Internet - Birka. She's grown a sweet friend of mine and I had the chance to meet her in person last summer. She's a lovely, heartwarming person who loves to care for others and she put together a sweet group of girls who kind of became a community over the last months. Since most of them met via Instagram Birka calls them the "Happy Insta Girls".
The girls started celebrating their friendship with super inspiring blog hops following different themes and this time I have the honor and pleasure to be part of the hop.
(I know most of the girls from Facebook, Instagram and because they're sweet customers so Birka invited me some time ago to join the group. I've just been too busy to take part in former hops, so this is my first appearance in this group - yay!)
Happy to be with them - they rock!
This time the blog hop is all about St Nicholas and Christmas and also includes a mean feature:
A white elephant gift exchange.
Like a Secret Santa we all sent a card and some "white elephants" to the next girl on the hop. We're save for now: we're just sharing what we got. But in January we'll be trying to create a card using the stuff that was sent to us.... and this will be a tough thing to do ;)
I am happy ans honored that Reni (Kartenwind) was my secret Santa. That's the first card I ever got from her and it's a hand-painted watercolor card - sooo beautiful! I am in love with her wreath!
See al the gold splatters? That makes this card extra special!
Well, as beautiful as this card is... as "not so beautiful" (trying not to say ugly) is the white elephant package that I got with it...
The paper is cute.
Bling brads? Not so much. Caps? Funny "ribbon"? paper flowers? Oh my freaking goodness, this IS a challenge for sure. Thanks Reni, I guess you wanted me to step out of my comfort zone and grow... uhm.... ya, thanks. It's the thought that counts :-P
(Your ideas for these items are lots appreciated... ;))
I also made a card - using a (soon to be released) Create A Smile image ;)
I sent this card to Dana, who's the next girl on the hop. You should sure hop over to see the white elephant that I sent out to her, hehe :) (And to see her amazing creation, of course. She's so talented!)
This is the hop order, in case you want to start from the beginning or got lost along the way:
Thanks for stopping by, have a great St Nicolas day!
