Penny Black Images + Zig Clean Color = LOVE

Sending a sunny hello your way! :)

Hope you're enjoying your week-end - may it be with 4th of July celebrations, with the super hot German weather or whatever you're doing this week-end :)
We're having some thunderstorms today and I enjoy them. I love summer, I love hot weather a lot - still, being refreshed by rain and a breeze is fantastic :)

Time to show you my newest crafty project. I can't stop raving about the Zig Clean Color real brush markers - I love them so much (and always have them with me! Lettering on the train is awesome and I'll soon share more of it with you). Penny Black images are perfect for coloring so I decided to combine both for my Simplicity Sister Post this month.

I usually don't use lots of cute people stamps, but I wanted to see if I'd be able to color them - I think it really turned out okay. And the combo with the large flowers might be unusual but eye-catching, don't you think?

  • stamp the girl image with Versafine Ink
  • afterwards stamp the flowers surrounding the girl to kind of frame it
  • find a nice placement for your sentiment, keeping the balance of the card
  • Use your Zig Clean Color Real brush markers and add just a bit of color into the corners of each area.
  • spread out the color with a waterbrush or a wet paint brush
  • add darker shades and shadows where you'd like them

Stamps: Penny Black (Happy Days, Dahlias, Cool Chicks )
Cardstock: Exacompta Cardfile
Ink: Versafine (Onyx Black)
Coloring: Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens (48 pack)

Thanks for stoppin' by - hope this was somehow inspirational :)

LOTS of cards that I haven't shared over here

Hello everyone,

I promised I'll start blogging a little more - keeping that in mind I'd like to tell you that I share all my Create A Smile cards on our Instagram channel and you can also find amazing creation from our tean there.

Anyway, I neglected posting my Crate A Smile cards over here (Boo!), so I collected quite a few that I'd like to share today:

1) some under-the sea-scene :)

First I'd like to share a card that's actually a case from Nina Marie's card
Thanks for Your Friendship_1

I loves that layout so much that I just had to use it! And I thought so wavy shapes would be perfect for an underwater scene.

Detail:

If you wonder how I created the background: I inked it up, than i dipped my stencil into water and laid it on top - the Distress Inks reacted with the water where the stencil was. Easy and beautiful!

Stamps: Create A Smile - Underwaterlove
Stencil: Create A Smile - Sending Sunshine Kit
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Distress Ink: Cracked Pistachio, Peacock Feathers, Stormy Sky
Coloring: Copic

2) Next up is a super simple one layer card with a bit of masking.
In the evening I like to sit in the living room with ma hero - maybe we're watching TV or he is gaming - and I like to color :) Sometimes I only stamp a bunch of images to color them, but this time I wanted to create cards - without having to take all my supplies over from my craft room. That was how I came up with a bunch of one layer cards (You'll find more of them in this post)

Stamps: Create A Smile - Coffee First
Cardstock: Simon Says Stamp 120lbs
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Coloring. Copics

3) Card #3 is another simple and probably male card:
I colored the chameleon and wanted it to pop on a card - so I kept it simple.

 Detail:

Stamps: Create A Smile - Jungle Fever
Stencil: Create A Smile - In Circles
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Versamark, Distress (Peacock Feathers, Creacked Pistachio, Black Soot)
Coloring: Copics, White Gel Pen

4) Now let's head for a noon-traditional wedding card :)
Again - I wanted to create a one layer card with focus on coloring. And suddenly those piglets jumped right into my eye and screamed "couple" to me. So I took the bow from "Big Time" to add to them and make them male and female. The sentiment is from a soon-to-be-released set and says "ready for take off?"- Thought that was funny.

Stamps: Create A Smile - Eggstraordinary Egghunt, Big Time
Cardstock: Simon Says Stamp 120lbs
Coloring: Copic
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black

Just add ink - Weedings
Craft and smash - animals

5) Who does not love crazy monsters?

Did you see Francines video on the Sending sunshine kit hop? I loved her video and I loved the technique - so I had to try it!

6) A male one layer card

Again: I justplayed around with markers and this is what I came up with. I thought the moustache from coffee first would be fun on that radio.

Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Washi: Freckled Fawn

7) Something sweet coming your way!

I bought some super inexpensive Kraft cards and wanted to use the larger one with some stenciling. I love how Pigment Ink sit on top of the cardstock.
